What should players bring/not bring?

Label EVERYTHING especially basketballs

What size ball should we buy?

U9 - U12: Size 5 basketball
U13 - U14: Size 6 basketball
U15 Onwards (Girls): Size 6 basketball

Do we need to be at every practice?

In order for players to progress as individuals
and as a team, players need to attend consistently.
Understandably, coaches find it very difficult to
move forward if players are dipping in and out.
It is also not fair on teammates as the whole team is affected.
Full commitment is expected at all age levels.

How often is practice on?

Players U6-U9 generally practice once per week.
U10 players practice once per week but sometimes twice.
Players U11 and over practice twice per week.

Will I need to travel for games?

Yes. We play in the southeast league.
You will need to travel for away games for U11's and older.
The furthest distance to the north is Baltinglass
and Wexford in the south (and places in between)

Do we need to buy club kit?

The club will provide kit for games. You are
welcome to order from the club shop if you wish.
The club shop opens periodically.
It is open now and will close again on 13th September.

What else do we need to do?

Along with completing your club membership,
players must also register with
Basketball Ireland annually.

N.B. Only register with BI if you are a club member

This is mandatory for insurance reasons
and players must not attend club activities
until they have registered with BI.
