Another basketball season is just around the corner, and after one of the most successful years in our club’s history, the excitement is already building for 2026/27. We can’t wait to see what the upcoming season has in store for our players both on and off the court. The countdown is on! 🏀🔥

🏀 Note for Returning Members

Membership renewal is now open for all returning players for the 2026/27 season. You can renew using the link below or via the membership renewal email you will receive on Friday's. To secure your place for the upcoming season, we kindly ask that all returning members complete their renewal by 31st July 2026.

Renewing early is necessary to help us plan effectively for the year ahead by confirming team numbers, arranging coaches, securing venues and court time, and opening places to players on our waiting lists as soon as possible. While we will do our best to accommodate everyone, places cannot be guaranteed after the renewal deadline.

Membership fees can be paid either in full or spread across up to 8 monthly instalments. Please note that the number of instalments available will reduce each month as the season start date approaches.

👋 Note for Members Not Returning

If you won't be returning to the club for the 2026/27 season, please click "Stop sending me this reminder" in your renewal email and select "I do not wish to renew my membership." This helps us keep our records up to date and allows us to offer places to players on our waiting lists. While we'll be sad to see you go, we'd like to sincerely thank you for being part of Kilkenny Stars and wish you every success and happiness for the future.

If your son was a member of the Boys Senior Development Academy with Xabi last season and would like to continue this year, please renew under the membership type: Boys Senior Development Academy U11–U17. There is always strong interest in joining Xabi's Development Academy sessions, so we kindly ask returning players to renew by 31st July to help us confirm places and plan the programme for the season ahead.

To ensure fairness across teams and to help support the running costs associated with each squad, players who regularly play up an age grade and train with teams outside their own age group will be asked to contribute a Playing Up Fee of €60. This fee will not apply to players who are only occasionally called up to play with another team. Further information and a payment link will be provided to parents/guardians once the season begins and team squads have been finalised.

⛹️ New Members

Potential new members can complete our membership form via ClubZap to join the waiting list. No payment is required at this stage. Once returning players have completed their renewals, we will review the waiting list and begin offering available places. Offers will be sent by email and, if accepted, members can choose either full payment or a flexible payment plan. Please note that any place offered must be accepted within 7 days, otherwise it will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

Our Club Lotto plays a hugely important role in helping Kilkenny Stars continue to grow and thrive. Every ticket purchased directly supports the development of our players, our teams, and the future of the club — including our long-term goal of securing a permanent home venue for Kilkenny Stars. 🏀⭐

All players, coaches, and club volunteers are required to complete their annual Basketball Ireland registration.

Please note that this registration is separate from your Kilkenny Stars membership and must be completed before taking part in any club activities, training sessions, games, or events. Members are not insured unless their Basketball Ireland registration is up to date. We kindly ask everyone to complete their registration as soon as it opens towards the end of July.

Chasing Basketball Ireland registrations each season can sometimes feel like a full-court press for our volunteers, so your help in getting it sorted early is greatly appreciated! 😄🏀
