We are into the business end of the basketball season and it is such a good complaint to have that we are extremely active at this time of the year. There is so much to update you on so lets try and cover it all and keep it short and sweet with some special mentions.
CluneTech Kilkenny Stars - our Ladies team bowed out of the Playoffs last Saturday after a rollercoaster of a first season. We so look forward to seeing how this team will grow over the next few years. One thing is for sure, our club members got behind the team this year and the support was fantastic making each game a great occassion. We also had some amazing sponsors and partners who made it all happen in particular:

Under 18 Girls - This fantastic team have only gone and reached the clubs first National Final by navigating the inaugural All Ireland League format to reach the final where they will take on Brunell of Cork at the National Arena on either Saturday 11th or Sunday 12th April. Watch the space on this one as we will be running a bus to support our girls and hopefully our club will mobilise and get to the National Arena to support the girls in this historic game for our club.
All Ireland Club Competition (AICC's) - Our Under 14 Girls/Boys and Under 16 Girls have qualified to represent the Kilkenny & South East Area in this tournament over the coming weeks starting with the Under 14 Girls this weekend. Well done to all players and coaches for getting your teams this far, go and enjoy the experience now. We will keep everyone posted on results as we get them.
Top 4 Competitions - Our club will once again host the Top 4 Tournaments this year which will involve 80+ games over 3 weekends in April and our club is well represented across all of the competitions. More information will follow on this next Wednesday as the league standings will be confirmed.
Awards Night - This night is now confirmed for 6pm - 8pm at The Watershed Sports Complex and we ask that all players from our Junior Academy up to our Under 18 Boys & Girls attend top celebrate a fantastic season. On the night there will be some special presentations made and each competitive team will recognise their Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player and Best Team Mate. It is really important that the winners are there on the night to be presented with their award and to hear what their coach has to say about them. A phrase that has stuck in my head all of this season is "Clap for others until it's your turn". This is such a powerful message and fits very well with the culture we are building here at Kilkenny Stars.
