Hi folks,
Our club has taken massive strides since returning to play after Covid starting with our underage Academy and Teams and over the last 2 years expanding into Senior basketball with our ladies team competing in the Dominos Womens Division One National Basketball League. This was a vital step for the club to take so that all of the kids who play basketball in our club have a very clear pathway to play senior basketball as they move into those latter teenage years and beyond.
Competing at a National level has been a long term goal for our club but now the goal has moved slightly to maintain our presence in this league which is a tough ask from a financial perspective as there are significant costs involved in running this team for a season (circa €30k).
We are very lucky to have a fantastic main sponsor CluneTech and we ran a very successful Corporate Competition at the start of the season where local businesses purchased tickets to a draw to become our home game sponsor for this season with InFocus Opticians being the winner for 2025/2026 season.
Our next fundraiser for our National League team is a "Christmas Draw" where we are asking the following of our members:
- < Each family to sell 10 x €5 lines for the draw over the Christmas period.
- < Cards to collect names/phone numbers will be handed out at training over the next 2 weeks.
- < Cards will be collected when we return to practice in the first week of January and the draw will be done during the week commencing Monday 12th January when we get all the cards back in.
- < You can see the prizes listed on the Card with 2 significant cash prizes as the top two prizes with lots of other great prizes to be won also.
This is a real opportunity for our Club Community to pull together and help to make sure that we can maintain our dream of competing at the highest level of Irish basketball and ensuring that this team will be there for the next few generations of players who are already in the club and looking at this team as their inspiration. Part of the longer term vision for our club is that we will have both a Ladies and Men's team competing in the National Leagues so a stable financial footing is vital for us to continue working towards that goal.
In addition to the physical cards that we will hand out at practices to the kids, we will also create an online version of the card so that your reach is extended to help those lines sold in whatever way is easiest for you.

There will be a special prize for the Top Selling Boy & Girl which will be confirmed at the launch.
