Existing Club Members
Club Membership 25/26 is open for all returning club members. In order to help us move things along quickly in terms of club admin and to secure places, we ask that everyone who is returning to the club, please complete your renewals by Friday 8th August. That includes you too coaches!!! 😀

If your son was a member of Boys Social Development with Xabi last season and he wishes to continue this season, please renew under the member type "Boys Senior Development Academy U11-U17". There is a big demand to join Xabi's Development sessions so we will need to know who is returning by the August 8th deadline. 

Important
You will all have received renewal emails from the club. If for some reason you did not receive a renewal email, you can renew via the membership tab in the app or by using the link HERE.

If you are not returning to the club for 25/26 please click "stop sending me this reminder" in that email and then select "I do not wish to renew my membership". Doing so will notify the club that you will not be returning for the upcoming season, will stop the renewal emails landing in your inbox and help us a great deal in terms of knowing how many players to expect back for 25/26.

New Members

While we strive to take in as many new members as possible, we are limited by space and coach availability. We also have a number of children on our waiting list already especially on the boys side. All potential new boys and girls who are signed up, will be automatically added to our waitlist and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are assessing waitlists and offering places for certain member types where we know we can make space. For now that is mostly Girls Born 2016-2019, Boys Born 2018-2019 and Boys Born 2009 - 2015 who want to join the Boys Senior Development Academy (further details below). Please note that all boys born 2009-2015 who are new to the sport should only signup to the waitlist for "Boys Senior Development Academy".

These spots are filling up very fast! For all other age groups and member types, we don't yet know the numbers of returning players and therefore it might take some time for an answer. 

The aim of Boys Senior Development Academy is to provide a training space for boys who are new to basketball to learn the fundamentals of the game. We are usually limited to 2 league teams at most age groups in the club (all of which are over subscribed). Many of these league teams are well established and the players have a number of years of basketball experience under their belts. As such, in most cases, it would not be possible to join a league team without first learning the fundamentals of the game.

The Boys Senior Development Academy is a non league set up ie. There are no league games. The Development Academy is run by one of our senior professional coaches, Xabi Arriaga and has proved very popular over the last number of years. The groups train once a week (day and location to be decided and training will commence in September). 

The Boys Senior Development Academy may be a stepping stone into league teams later if the coaches think a player is ready to move on and if there is a place available in a league team later. We have had a number of players transition to league teams from our development program over the last 2 years. However, it's important to be aware that there is no guarantee of spots on league teams later due to over subscribed league teams and player readiness. 

In summary, this program is for boys only that are new to the sport and not yet ready for league basketball or that just want to play for enjoyment and perhaps don't have time for league basketball matches and increased training schedules.

N.B. The club has a very long waitlist so in the interest of fairness, we have to put a time limit on accepting places. If you receive an approval email for your child, please complete sign up within 5 days of receiving the approval email to secure a spot. If we do not receive a completed paid membership after that, we will assume you no longer want the place.
