The new basketball season is here and we are all very excited to see what's in store for 2024/25. We want to give a quick update on club membership 2024/25. We are full in most age groups/squads and we have closed most waitlists for the time being while we continue to work through the names on the existing waitlist.

U10 Girls Academy | Players are welcome to signup and join the club.
We welcome all girls born 2015 - 2018 and encourage parents to sign up for club membership, bring your daughter over to the Watershed on Friday's and give it go.
U11 - U18 Girls League | Players are welcome to join our waitlist and we will be in touch
We have some spaces for girls in some squads so please come in via the waitlist and we will give you a shout if we have a spot.
Boys Social Basketball | Players are welcome to join our waitlist and we will be in touch
Boys social basketball is full right now. We are working hard to try find room for more children. This may take a couple of weeks (if it happens at all). Please sign up for boys social basketball waitlist and we will get in touch if more places become available.
N.B Boys social basketball was piloted last season as a way to provide basketball training for children who want to play for fun, want to the learn the fundamentals in a non competitive environment or who have aspirations to make league teams later.
There have been players who transitioned into league teams from the social setting so it can be a stepping stone. We do try to give preference to players from the social set up in league teams "if" we have capacity later. However, there are no guarantees as our league team squads have huge numbers and there's not always spaces available even if a social player is ready to play higher level basketball.
Teen Girls Socia Ball
Due to the popularity of ladies Socia-Ball, we are delighted to announce the introduction of a new Teen Girls Socia-Ball program this season. This programme is a recreational, non-competitive model with a focus on fun and social outlet. This programme provides a non-competitive #JustPlay opportunity for females age 13-17 yrs to engage with the sport and being physically active. The emphasis is on fun, socializing and moving in a safe environment. This perfect for any teen girls who are looking for a sporting outlet, to make friend and have some fun in a non competitive environment. If she takes to basketball and wishes to progress into league basketball later, you can talk to coaches Cara and Wendy and we will take it from there.
If your daughter is interested, bring her along to Kilkenny College gym on Tuesday's 7pm - 8pm to give it a shot. All welcome.

Friday Night Academy at The Watershed
The Friday night academy is for club members only and all club members must also be registered with Basketball Ireland (link below). While it would be lovely to allow our little members bring a pal, it's just not possible for child welfare and insurance reasons. Pals are welcome to watch if supervised by an adult but not to take part.
