The club is delighted to announce that for the upcoming season we will be entering a team in the Basketball Ireland Ladies National Development League.

Our girl’s teams have been hugely successful on the National stage in recent seasons and the last few years of development and expansion in the club have been building towards this season where we finally launch ourselves at a senior level in the National League.  We are so excited to see what our young team can do in this league and are hoping that each home game will be a fantastic event for all of our club members and the wider basketball community to come and support at The Watershed Sports Complex.

The fixtures for this league will be issued in a few weeks’ time and we will send a further update of the schedule for the year at that stage for our National League team.

 

Our Coaching Team of Puff Summers and Anthony Wall have already got to work with this group of extremely talented players with no less than 7 past/present Irish Internationals.  

 

In addition to the National League team we are absolutely delighted to also announce that we will have a team in the Kilkenny & South East Men’s & Ladies leagues this year.  For too long we have said goodbye to players who have graduated past the Under 18 age bracket and this venture into senior basketball ensures that we can provide basketball for our players beyond the junior leagues.

 

All of the above will help to create pathways for players of all abilities to progress from the junior teams into senior teams within the Kilkenny Stars club which is a very exciting time for our players and our club.
