Earlier this the season, Kilkenny Stars put a call in to the Director of Sales and Marketing at Newpark Hotel, Ms. Joanna Hannick, seeking the hotels support in the form of team sponsorship. Ms. Hannick took time out of her busy schedule to meet with us in person and learn about the clubs history and our plans for the future. It was very evident from the outset that our values aligned with family, fun, activity and striving for excellence at the core of what we both value most. We were beyond grateful to get the full backing of Newpark Hotel and an agreement to be one of our club's team sponsors. Together with Ms. Hannick we produced two striking playing kits (home and away) branded with the Jurassic Newpark logo.
Today after practice, the under 11 boys together with their parents and coaches went to visit our friends in Newpark Hotel. Everyone wanted to say a BIG MASSIVE THANK YOU to Newpark Hotel for so generously sponsoring this fantastic group of players. Coach Don Gordon had the pleasure of presenting Hotel Manager, Niall Dunne, with a Kilkenny Stars/Jurassic Newpark jersey to keep at the hotel. Needless to say the boys were delighted when Niall invited them in to have a run around the fabulous Jurassic Newpark experience. Don may have been less pleased as he'll no doubt have to wash the kits again! :)
Kilkenny Stars is a voluntary run, not for profit club exceeding 400 members age 5 - 18 yrs. The club has BIG plans. Securing a home of our own and making a move into senior basketball, thus providing basketball for our players into adulthood are top of the list. Having the support of the local business community will be essential in achieving these goals into the future. It is so heartening to have such well respected Kilkenny businesses, such as Newpark Hotel backing the club and what we are trying to achieve. We are very grateful for your generous support of the club and the children themselves. Thank you.
