The season is officially up and running and the club is a hive of activity again. Some highlights below:
New Kit & Club Shop:
As part of the re-branding of the club, we have moved to Vive Ireland for all of our kits and Club Shop with our club colours of Black/Orange very prominent in all of the designs. Thanks once again to our amazing sponsors for backing the club on this journey: Specsavers, Robert Quinn Ltd., Kearney Roche & McGuinn LLP Solicitors, Murphy's Jewellers, DJ Solutions, Castlecomer Discovery Park, CluneTech., Jurassic Newpark, TC Tyres, Kilkenny Vehicle Centre (Citroen).
The Club Shop is taking orders through the ClubZap App up to 14th October, delivery time is approx 4-5 weeks from the date of order. The Club Shop will close then until the new year.
Home Games:
Yesterday our first home game of the season was held at "The Lab" which is our name for the court in St Kieran's College. The atmosphere is amazing with supporters right on the court side. We do encourage all of our supporters to be supportive of our teams and respectful of the referees/board officials/opposition. We want our home venue to be a place where kids can play and grow in a hugely positive environment and we all have a role to play in making this happen.
Club Lotto (Coming in November):
Our goal for the Club is to have a "Home of our Own" and to continuously invest in the Development of our players and coaches so that we can compete locally and on the National Stage. Our Club Lotto will be launched in November with an initial Jackpot of €1,000. The draws will be weekly and there will be 2 "lucky dip" prizes of €25 each week. If the Jackpot is not won, the prize fund will increase by €50 until won. This fundraiser will be vital for the future of the club and we are asking that all of our members support our Club Lotto - more details to follow shortly, watch this space!!
National Squad Selections:
This week we had a phenomenal run of good news with no less than 6 players making the National Squads. Congratulations once again to Faye McDonnell, Aoibhin Dunphy, Kaitlyn Summers, Caoimhe Timmons, Aimee O'Reilly and Roberts Pikurs. The club is very proud of each and every one of you.
Coaching & Development:
We are delighted to have been able to expand our Coaching Team for this season with some very talented local coaches who have hit the ground running with their teams and also a couple of high profile players/coaches from the National League Teams (Xabi Arriaga SETU Carlow & Briana Bailey MC Hawks) Of course our Head of Coaching and Development Puff Summers is back and doing his thing at our Friday Night Academy (90+ kids) and with the U18/U16 Girls and U14 Boys.
Watch out for additional Academy Sessions and Camps regularly advertised and run with the Why Not Me? (Puff) and Shooters Shoot 3's (Xabi) Academies. These are fantastic opportunities for our players to get some extra development sessions in with 2 of the best coaches in the country!"
Hoping to send monthly updates like this to keep our members informed on what is going on in the Club - thank you all for your continued support.
